Custom Profile Extrusions
Plastic Profile
extrusion produces a thermoplastic part that has a continuous
cross-section. Using heat, pressure, and pullers, the plastic is
forced through a machined set of dies that matches the part profile.
The physical properties of a plastic extrusion range from very stiff and rigid to soft
and flexible. Plastic extrusions can be enhanced with modifiers to increase impact strength, minimize deflection, resist ultraviolet exposure and withstand harsh chemicals. Glass or graphite
can be added for exceptional strength. Rigid and flexible plastics or different colors can be combined in the same part in a process called
co-extrusion. In an inline application, decorative finishes such as simulated wood grain in a variety of colors or various foils like gold, brass, aluminum, and chrome can be applied for extruded plastics, contact SRG.
