Custom Profile Extrusions
Rather than producing a catalogue of standard
or stock shapes, SRG Plastics
designs and engineers tooling to produce parts which meet the customer's
specific requirements.
Profile
extrusion produces a thermoplastic part that has a consistent
cross-section. Using heat and pressure, the material is
forced through a machined die head opening that matches the part profile.
The physical properties of thermoplastics range from very soft
and flexible to very stiff and rigid. Materials can be enhanced
with modifiers to increase impact strength, minimize deflection, resist
ultra-violet exposure and withstand harsh chemicals. Glass or graphite
can be added for exceptional strength. We can combine rigid with flexible
materials or combine different colors in the same part, known as Co-Extrusion.
We can apply decorative finishes such as simulated wood in a variety of
colors and grains. Various types of foils can be applied to resemble gold,
brass, chrome and other metallic surfaces. The possibilities are endless.
In addition to these
services, we have a complete Value Added Department which includes
a full range of fabrication; such as adhesive taping, drilling, notching,
punching, and machining. We can also provide secondary operations to
integrate customer's components with their plastic parts.
